Sometimes Americans love the flag symbol way more than the actual freedoms the symbol stands for.

It’s like a diamond ring symbolizing the marriage. If the diamond ring is damaged or lost, you’re still freaking married.

These days, I find an inverse correlation between espousing patriotism and having served in the military.
