I got a 60GB SSD first but had to get a larger one since I only had 12GB left with OS install. Now I have the 60 and a 120GB SSD. I was tempted to clone it over but decided to do a clean install instead since cloning might ruin the alignment on the SSD which is critical. That an a vanilla 500GB HDD. For now. They’re all hooked up to 6GB SATA lines.

I have 2 1-TB SATA 6GB in a RAID0 configuration so I’m going to shrink that partition to 100GB and then clone it to my SATA 6GB 120GB SSD. The trouble is, I have >600GB of data on the RAID and no partition to move most of it to, so I’ll have to piss around with shrinking and expanding partitions.

I haven’t seen a big difference in speed between SATA 3GB and 6GB yet but I’m not using 6GB rated cables, so that may be the problem.
