Republicans are now stuck with either a weak and damaged candidate, or a brokered convention. I think that the higher-ups have been watching Mitt over the past few days and getting quite nervous about what they had set up as inevitable.
BTW, only 22% of Evangelicals in SC voted Mitt, according to the exit polls. Is it really possible that they prefer a serial adulterer to a Mormon? Can a Republican win without the evangelicals? Interesting questions for the Christianist right.

This is only a question if you are still confused or in denial about how far and how deep their prejudice goes. Adultery is forgivable, being a member of the wrong tribe is not.
