I do think government involvement is over the line. The company, or the CEO, should be allowed to have whatever opinion he wants as long as he’s not discriminating or conducting illegal business practices. I don’t like the idea of government punishing people who disagree about policy.

I agree with you.

On the other hand Chik-Fil-A does discriminate against gays and lesbians in its hiring practices. My wife says she’s known people that worked for the restaurant and they said that Chik-Fil-A will not serve openly gay couples nor will they hire gays. I looked for cites but couldn’t find any.

But I trust my wife and she trusts the people that informed her of their actions.
