I recommend against that use of language, actually.

The term ‘Pro-choice’ should be reserved for the position that laws should basically allow abortion.

Similarly, the term ‘Pro-life’ should be reserved for the position that laws should basically ban abortion.

‘Pro-choice in public but pro-life in private’ gives the legislative pro-life extremists political cover they do not deserve.
