I’ll never be a W fan but as a son, this is a fine tribute to a father from a son who loved his Dad dearly.

As others are pointing out, everyone speaking here about GHWB seems to be taking digs at Trump, but that’s not what they meant. Trump is a fucknut who was, is, and always be, damaged goods and his entire admin is corrupt and compromised.

His personality is likewise damaged, so when you talk about the love a son has for his dad, or a foreign leader talks about his leadership skills, it’s impossible not to note that none of this will be spoken of when Trump eventually faces this situation.

Mortality makes you introspective, and Trump lacks that just as surely as he lacks empathy.

Those speaking about GHWB can disagree with his policies or outcomes, but note that he served the nation in ways few ever have or ever will. They can talk about how he adored his family and sought to help others post-presidency with his charitable efforts. Etc.

You will be hard pressed to find anyone who will be able to say that of Trump.
