re: #380 Eventual Carrion

The bad thing about this ‘innovation’ is that “Necessity is the mother of invention”.

The concept is pretty harebrained. Consider this. Someone walks into a classroom with a semiautomatic weapon. The bulletproof whiteboard is on a table in the corner, let’s say 20 feet from the teacher. By the time he or she lunges for the whiteboard/shield, the gunman has plenty of time to mow the teacher down.

The concept assumes the teacher is holding the whiteboard all the time. No teacher would do that.

Someone above mentioned the physics involved, too. The kinetic energy of the bullets could very well knock the teacher off balance.

Gee, wouldn’t be a good idea just to reduce the possibility of someone entering a school armed to the teeth, like with gun control laws? Not in America, godammit. We need to protect our kids with bulletproof gadgets and arm the teachers to the teeth, because that’s makes total sense.

Reality as seen by people through the mirror of a point-and-shoot RPG.
