I agree it’s past time to end the EC, go straight popular vote and see where the experiment leads.

It would be interesting though, because a bunch of rural conservative voters would suddenly find themselves outmatched so to speak.

I predict there would be some pretty severe reactions to that.

They would be even more upset. The irony is for all their crying about Obama. Obama was historically popular. Only threePresidents have gotten more than 50% of the vote twice since WWII.Obama and Reagan and Ike. Clinton didn’t do it and neither did Nixon and Dubya. There was definitely jealously of Obama’s popularity nationally which is why they easily embraced the delusion that they represent Real America.
