He plans to house build there eventually. He is also going to need a varmit rifle since he will be keeping chickens and possibly some other small livestock. Said rifle will need to deal with stuff up to coyote size. Any suggestions on caliber/type of weapon he should look for?

.22 long rifle…doesn’t make lots of noise and the coyotes can run off and die in someone else’s yard, so you don’t have to dispose of them. Coyotes are smart…once they get the message they stay away.

As for the ivy and other crap like blackberries…get some goats, let ‘em do what goats do best, then braise the fuckers like sheep.
