If I understand correctly, some places that sell guns offer a one year free membership to the NRA. This happened when my husband bought an actual hunting rifle a few years ago. I just threw their mailings in the trash, especially after opening one and reading the enclosed bullshit. So my theory is that the national numbers are inflated because of that. I’m wondering what the actual benefit of being a member is. Beyond the crappy discounts everyone is weeping over.
