He still thinks that’s just how politics is done. And 40 years ago, that wasn’t abnormal, and at the end of a campaign, people went back to dinner with each other afterwards.

But it’s no longer a campaign tactic on the right. It’s embedded in their DNA now, and is a thing that must be defeated.

im still leaning to the notion that this is a campaign tactic. to give just enough people ‘permission’ to vote “dem/not trump”.

were biden to win, and depending on what happened in the house/senate, i dont think he has any illusions about trying to govern that way. (he’s seen mcconnell)
