muscle cars from around 62 to 72 are iconic American experience…singular and unique, it was all about us and our need for speed…flat out, short distance and looking good doing it…looking back it was not a novelty but an expression of engineering so formidable you might call it art…I do

The engineering was unbelievably horrible, and we all knew it at the time.

If you wanted good engineering you had to blueprint (rebuild) the engine, the bias-ply tires were a joke in durability and handling in anything but a straight line, solid rear suspension meant you never really had what you’d call a good ride, had to keep adjusting the points and timing and plugs just to keep it running, big engines were unbelievably thirsty even at idle, cheap vinyl seats were the mode, not to mention landau roofs.

But it was fun anyway, and we were young.
