I guess we’re going to have to agree to disagree on this. As Nojay said (much more clearly than I) in his #366, “a vote in a democracy is an exercise of citizenship, not a right or a privilege.” While the right to bear arms may also be regarded as an exercise of citizenship, taking someone’s 2A rights away does not prevent them from participating in our system of government (unless their idea of participation is to use said firearms against the federal government, as some wingnuts seem wont to do).

What I’m saying is that (IMO) your example was comparing apples to oranges, so you’ll have to come up with a more convincing analogy.
