Interestingly enough, and not completely tied to the war, India decided to scrap a purchase of 48 Mi-17V military transport helicopters from Russia. Officially, it was scrapped in favor of domestic development, and has been in the works for a while. India has been trying to reduce its dependency on foreign military imports.

India Scraps Planned Purchase of 48 Russian Helicopters

Unofficially, India has been increasingly pissed off with the quality of Russian helicopters, even more so after Bipin Rawat, India’s Chief of Defence Staff (equivalent to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff), was killled in a crash of one.

And here’s the kicker, Russia’s war makes India worried that it’ll be harder to maintain those helicopters in the future, especially since… most of the key engine parts were sourced from Ukrainian manufacturers!.

Which really makes me wonder even more as to the competence and/or sanity of Russian military planners.
