Mental health needs to be addressed but at the same time, we need to stop assuming mental illness = violent. Mentally ill people are far more likely to be victims of crime than commit it.

Can’t upding this enough. A part of the stigmatization of mental illness is the notion that mentally ill people are violent. Far from all are.
