So that means Russia can build as many nukes as they want and we can’t inspect anything?

Saving grace there would be that they really, really don’t have the means to do so and their cash-strapped military will be perfectly happy to emphasise that even at current levels they have more than enough of the bloody things for pretty much any eventuality already.

The inspection thing is on the money, though. And it’s a great way to give Russia a chance to get out of those obligations without taking an ounce of blame for it. If I didn’t know better I’d almost suspect someone high up in the current administration might owe them a favour or two…
