Let’s go ahead and say that it is debatable whether there is an element of racism in this current outrage. What is not debatable is that we frequently hear folks on the right bemoan the fact that they are painted as being racist unfairly. This being the case, wouldn’t you endeavor to avoid even the APPEARANCE of racism? Serious question.
