re: #364 avanti

I’ll meet you half way, if he pushes the plan as suggested, I’ll agree that he’s dead wrong and leave anyway, having lost what little faith I had in politicians. But no one ever suggested vets pay for their own treatment. Trying to suggest that private insurance could or would pay, is silly enough. I opposed a similar plan submitted several times since the Clinton administration, just as I do this one.

Dude - do you think “private insurance” is free? Oh yeah - you are a Democrat who has gotten government paychecks all of your life - so you think “yes”.

Well it isn’t.

And the premiums are not tax deductable.

So the soldier does pay.

And when you are a soldier who has to buy war wound insurance, you can imagine what the premium will be.

I regularly visit with recovering Marines at Balboa Hospital. Some of these guys look like their skulls were passed through a meat grinder. Few visit them out of revulsion. Imagine being 20, looking at the rest of your life, wondering if you can ever work, and finding out that the VA is going to start trying to find a private insurer (maybe you mom and dad’s if they declared you a dependent on their tax retun) to pin the costs on.

Imagine then contemplating how you are going to have to negotiate with that insurer over what is the appropriate level of physical therapy that you are allowed under that policy.

imagine having to sell your one possession - a shity car you bought after basic but before you were shipped out - to pay the deductible for that treatment. And imagine then realizing that you need to find money to pay next year’s deductible.

Obama has no life experience or work experience that makes him in any way capable of empathising with that situation.

He is wholly unqualified to be the President. Yet he is because gullible people like you voted for him.

I fear for those Marines. I really do.
