I would normally agree with you….but Merick Garland.

McConnell will break every norm and change every rule for the temporary benefit he gets while the GOP controls the, presidency, house and the senate.

There is no benefit to be gained from not seating Franken’s duly appointed replacement. McConnell would still need 50 votes to pass the tax bill. 49 is not half of 99.
