Magic doesn’t have to be involved. If US corporations get the feeling that the US public is actually directing their anger against them, for their policies of offshoring jobs, of squeezing workers for more productivity even as they enjoy record profits, it may actually prompt them to adjust policies and create more jobs in the US.

The current situation cannot last forever. The US doesn’t have a magical hand that ensures that it will always have a middle class. If corporations continue to take jobs out of the US at the rate that they are, if the wealth disparity continues to widen at the rate that it is, our society, and our nation, will not last.
