OFF THE GULF COAST - KHOU-TV says that two people are dead and two people are missing after an explosion at a platform in the Gulf of Mexico.

In addition, four people have been airlifted to West Jefferson Hospital, two of them who are said to be in critical condition.

The platform is believed to belong to Black Elk Energry out of Houston. It produces both oil and natural gas.

“We cannot confirm or deny anything at this time, but we are assembling an incident command team right now,”
