I post nothing political on my facebook. I skip the political stuff posted there. Most of my family and friends don’t do the political thing on FB, but a few do, and there are ways to mute/block some of the stuff coming through - if they’re sharing stuff from certain sites for example (or games, like Zynga, Words w/Friends, etc.).

Much less stressful that way.
