Well, to be fair, a desire for others to be converted isn’t bigotry. It’s simply saying you think you are more right than they are.
You know, I have a lot of evangelical friends who really would be thrilled to pieces if I found Jesus, and I’m OK with that. We have a working understanding about it.
However, there are good and bad ways of talking about this, and Ann didn’t find a good one.
Also, I imagine she’d be eternally pissed off if anyone ever tried to convert her to anything, even very indirectly.

You’re absolutely right, SFZ, on all counts (as usual). If the part about thinking “you are more right than they are” remained just a thought—or even a diplomatically worded discussion—there probably would never have been any major religious conflicts.
And with that, I’ll reiterate & emphasize my longstanding profile quote and take my scaly backside off to visit Mr. Sandman:
