Trespassing is a tricky thing. If a building is generally open to the public, it’s hard to claim trespassing (like it’s not actually unlawful to cut through someone’s parking lot, even though it’s a technical trespass). Unless someone acting on behalf of the building/tenant asks them to leave, you probably don’t have grounds for trespassing. By letting her stay, the are probably waiving a trespassing claim.
