Actually that brings up something that really annoys me - our cultural burial practices that are encoded in law. If I had my choice, I would chose to be planted in the ground with no casket and certainly no embalming so that my body could naturally deteriorate and feed the slugs, bugs, and bacteria and be returned to the biosphere. It would be cool to have a tree planted over my old, dead bones to feed off of the nutrients and be a home to birds, and squirrels, and ‘possums.
