No. This is what US movement conservatism is. This is who US movement conservatives are. Both stupid and evil.

I shy away from the word ‘evil’ because it’s so overused, but this is largely it. It’s the ‘epistemic closure’ thing, where the only people they talk to are other Conservatives, and they get positive reinforcement for saying crazy shit versus being ostracized for being reasonable.
