I’d have rather heard that than talk about “clean coal” and opening up lands for drilling, reducing dependency on foreign oil, etc. All that stuff sounds groovy but how about reducing dependency on hydrocarbons, period? How about turning the guts of scrapped nukes into fuel or something? That’s visionary, right there, figuring a way to turn bombs into power plant material… It would be hard and costly, but I bet it could be done.

Fukushima screwed us on the nuclear front, unfortunately.
