If were a Federal judge designing my courthouse lobby, it would have representations of law from as far back as could be archaeologically accurate, up through the ten, up through the Magna Carta, the US Constitution. And so on. At the very end I’d like a computer screen that would show whatever criminal law was just passed or changed. My point would be that we nod with respect to previous efforts at justice and we keep a cautionary eye on our own efforts.

Considering some previous efforts at “justice”, I would rather they were there as a cautionary tale more than anything else. In a museum I’d be all for it, but I would be extremely careful about that kind of thing. Many laws were, and many still are, nuts.
