The right policy should be chosen because it’s right. That rarely correlates with purity, but if that means it’s 100% Democrat or 100% Republican, then so be it.

Purity is, in principle, wholly orthogonal to correctness.

“Orthogonal” meaning “at cross purposes with”, correct?
