Just got an insurance thing in the mail about the initial ER doctor bill. Insurance didn’t pay anything, but the cost was negotiated down about 50%. (Gotta get that deductible met…I’m actually feeling major relief that this all happened in January, rather than in December, so there’s only one deductible to worry about, instead of two.)

How does an insurance company not pay anything on an ER bill? For a heart attack? That sounds crazy. Glad the charge was negotiated down, but still.
