How about the films of Charlie Kaufman? Pretty brilliant and original. I’m also a big fan of Todd Haynes. Clint Eastwood makes great movies. Paul Thomas Anderson has some doozies to his credit. I’m a sucker for Tarantino, too, though I was mildly disappointed by “Basterds.” Scorsese keeps making movies that force you to give them your full attention.

I like David Gordon Green’s style, too. “Pineapple Express” was amazing. I wish his adaptation of “A Confederacy Of Dunces” had gotten made, starring Will Ferrell as Ignatius. His first movie, “George Washington,” is definitely worth checking out.

Anyway, I’m still a big fan of the movies, even though they are obviously ruled by the General Theory Of Suckitude, which states that 90% of everything is crap. With movies, the crap-ratio is a bit higher, but you can’t toss the good babies out with the used bathwater.

It’s ten pm. Do you know where your kids are?

Larry Clark:

“Ken Park”
“Kids”
“Bully”

Todd Solondz:
“Welcome to the Dollhouse”
“Palindromes”
“Storytelling”
“Happiness”

Not your usual Hollywood films.

Don’t flame me, bro.
