Ebola just isn’t that kind of threat to a country with a decent medical infrastructure, because it’s not contagious unless the infected person is actually showing symptoms, and it’s spread by direct contact only. Like smallpox. Extremely contagious (if you have symptoms) extremely deadly, controllable by quarantine.

Of course it would be nice if, like smallpox, we had a vaccine.

Yeah, Ebola is very much a danger in nations where the level of health care is poor to none. But even a moderately effective health care system can stop it cold. All it takes is a quarantine of the infected and those they came in contact with after they began bleeding out. We’re not talking a plague that moves through the air or casual touch, you have to come in physical contact with bodily fluids.
