Leeuwarden Airbase in the Netherlands is having an open day today.

Nothing serious is going to happen here, although the Red Arrows had to cancel their yesterday’s performance due to mechanical problems of one of their nine planes. Could be a bird strike. Last month one of their aircraft went down, the pilot being killed.

About this accident. Initial reports said that a technical failure could be the blame of this horrible event, but look at this photo. I think a medical problem could also be the cause. The pilot is not visible. Could he have had a stroke and be unconscious?
