I noticed a tweet today (baseball related, but my point is more general):

Where the reporter @’s the subject of his tweet. To me, the context of the tweet makes for a shitty @ reference. Like, “Orioles may need his services, they need to see how shitty their OF/DH is first.” The @ makes it show in Abreu’s @ stream.
