I’m really not a fan of naming buildings after people. I’ve always thought that if I were fabulously wealthy I’d like to endow a building with the proviso that it always be called “The Administration Building” or “The (name of town) Concert Hall” or whatever.
Yet, it’s a reliable incentive for most wealthy philanthropists. I’ve known of one or two who’d rather name an endowment, but buildings (or even rooms) have a great appeal.
