re: #395 Obdicut
Oh noes. Those sneaky Muslims! They’re refusing to call it a mosque, they must be up to something!
I think a Muslim prayer area that hosts the five daily prayers is a form of mosque. So you’re apparently upset at them for not writing the word ‘mosque’.
Have you *ever* heard a church referred to as a “Chrsitian prayer area.” Or a synagogue as a “Jewish prayer area”?
Park51 goes so far as to capitalize it on this page: blog.park51.org
The “Muslim Prayer Space.” Perhaps they’ll try to trademark that.
I am upset, because they’re not being honest. They want to have it both ways. They want it to be a mosque but they want to be able to say it’s “not a mosque” (because, you see it’s a “Muslim Prayer Space, silly, not a mosque.”)
As for the whole issue of whether it “is” a mosque or “contains” a mosque, you’ve got to be kidding. If people have issue with a mosque being built, why does it matter whether that mosque is inside something else or not. That’s the type of excuse my 4 year old would come up with: No, I didn’t throw my lunch away. I threw my lunch box away!
