I had of course heard the story of Edward R Murrow taking Mcarthy to the woodshed, but had never actually watched the film. I spent some time this morning watching Murrow take him on…..it was like something foreign……. Murrow calmly pointed out the facts…… you could tell he understood that he tremendous influence over his viewers, but it was distasteful for him to use it…..
