re: Van Jones

His troofer links are looking more persuasive, particularly when you consider that the people Charles notes (that would be both Lerner and Zinn) claimed to have been lied to by the 911 troofer outfits in regards to petition signatures are still posting information to the troofer sites, and continue espousing troofer conspiracy theories there and elsewhere.

Jones ran in these circles of the far left, and under normal circumstances that would have been enough to disqualify him because of the extremists he regularly associated with.

I don’t think it’s a slam dunk on the trooferism, but there’s plenty of other stuff to send Jones packing. That he self-identified as a communist should disqualify him, but this is the Obama White House we’re talking about, and he fits in there perfectly.

I’m sure law enforcement just loves the idea of a Mumia lover in the President’s ear. Nothing quite like having a cop-killer supporter and proponent of conspiracies relating to Mumia’s incarceration having a say in public policy at the highest levels.

Focusing on the trooferism is understandable, particularly with the anniversary of the attacks right around the corner, but his pseudoscience associations are just as troubling, particularly since he’s being asked to provide science policy guidance and address spending priorities.

Jones should go, but Obama will keep him on since he’s just another fellow traveler.
