OT, but media related.

Last night I - for some unknown reason, probably that last glass of wine - sat down and watched part of the People’s Choice awards program. I was surprised at how uncomfortable it made me.

There were, I guess, “regular folks” in these pits, and the “stars” would slap hands like football players running onto the field at the beginning of the game.

At least some would. Others (like Robin Williams) tended to stay on the far side of the runway, as though getting to close to the “fans” was beneath them.

The fawning over these actors was nauseating, as were many of the acceptance speeches.

So what’s the point? The political activism of these actors, coupled with the mindless adoration of the “fans” made me want to puke. All this is making it harder and harder for me to enjoy movies and television programs, as it is too hard to put the b.s. aside.

And I hate it.

(Rant off.)
