A comedian once made a similar observation. Paraphrasing:

“We’re not smart, we just memorized a bunch of shit smart people figured out. Stick any one of us on a deserted island, with every advanced tool known to mankind, then come back in a thousand years. You’ll find us running around naked, trying to catch fish with wooden spears”.
