That’s the coldest NFL game on record per wind chill. They called it the Freezer Bowl. -59 with the Wind Chill. I didn’t realize Cincy could get that cold.

It is rare. I think if you look at a map, you see Ohio is almost like in a cup of hills/mountains. If a cold front drops down out of North Dakota/Minnesota it seems to come down from the Northwest and settle into Ohio and makes its lowest point along the Ohio Valley and then arcs back up through Pennsylvania to the New York/New England area.

Ohio can get pretty cold. Columbus is bad because it is flat and when we get wind, we get wind straight on from the west. Brrr. Cleveland has the lake effect and can be just miserable. It’s why we even have skiing! (Though I doubt many agree…it’s more like sliding)
