Thank you. But there were a number of respectful skeptics on that thread, of which I was one for a while. They (we) got lumped into the same troll/sockpuppet category (by some, not you) with those who were publicly calling TSO a liar and claiming the whole thing was a hoax.

It was (and remains) odd that there was virtually no mention of this ball on any of several dozen lists of “unofficial’ balls, nor in a single news source (until the next day and then only one). It’s also odd that, according to the Live Leak post, an Obama rep responded to a letter from the AL and said he would attend after all. And yet, he didn’t. If there was such a lack of substantiation of a story that came from the LLL, we would be all over it. JacksonTn and others who actually made calls and sent emails trying to get to the bottom of this deserve a lot of credit.

So I would hope we continue to apply the same standards of scrutiny to the news no matter which side it comes from (no offense to the sources intended), and that those who ask questions (without resorting to wild, defamatory and unsubstantiated accusations) aren’t attacked for doing so.
