For fuck’s sake, she’s a woman. If she refused to compromise, the story wouldn’t be how she was being strong and standing up for herself. It would be about how she’s ungracious, a bitch, and doesn’t care about the progressives because she’s beholden to her corporate overlords (playing nicely into the Bernie or Bust narrative there). Instead, she’s cutting the knees out from under them. I don’t think she’s done anything that would set up the hackles of the more reasonable Bernie supporters and her willingness to listen and be open to ideas is probably helping smooth the way for them to vote for her even without Bernie’s endorsement.

Anyway, I obviously can’t tell you not to freak out over this. You can spend your energy how you want to. Mine’s going elsewhere.

I know what you’re saying but goddamn it, I hate having to knuckle under like this. I hate promising things I know we can’t deliver since it’s going to bite us down the line. I hate trying to appease those who’ve made it clear in every possible way that they cannot be appeased, like Jill Stein openly threatening to prosecute Hillary for… who knows?

I guess we’ll just have to close our eyes and hope and pray that this works.
