We won’t get the far left. Ever. If we could, McCain would have been our guy. Instead, we need to focus on protecting and defending the Constitution, and not spending like drunken sailors. With that, we will get our base, and those in the center. The loons can vote for Kucinich. Oh, and we can give them all the Ron Paulians, too. As a parting gift.

I agree with everything except the first sentence. I didn’t suggest we get the far left. Just 5-10 in the middle. That’s all it takes. And IMO we’re only a few outdated and unpopular SoCon ideas away from doing that (ideas which happen to run against the whole “defend the Constitution” thing, like Creationism and anti-Gay marriage amendments).
