So instead of the Democrat (Heath Mello) who is personally opposed to abortion and signed onto legislation that was far less severe than what the Republicans were offering, we instead get the reëlection of Mayor Stothert. She actively opposes any sort of abortion rights and is seeking to use her office to catapult her to the Unicameral or the Governor’s office.

You run with the Democrat you have, not the Democrat you wish you had. Omaha just reëlected a wingnut.

By the way, Senator Tim Kaine’s position on abortion largely aligned with Heath Mello’s.

You’re misrepresnting Kaine’s record on abortion. Kaine never used his time as Va’s governor and Senator to support restrictions on abortion rights. Mello did during his time in the legislature form what I’ve read.
