There has been far too much toleration, on the part of progressives, of the hateful, not to mention irrational and anti-science, propaganda that the right wing has been pushing for the past 10 years at least, on the grounds that if we call them out on it, people might clutch their pearls and get all upset.

Once again, we are not talking about making speech illegal (though there is certainly a reasonable debate to be had over whether some speech, in some circumstances, should be illegal, that is not the debate here).

What we are talking about is standing up and saying: these attitudes are irresponsible and morally reprehensible, and if you express them through speech then we will take steps to oppose you and your position.

And if that gets the stupid fuckers who vote for Republicans to strip-mine this country and screw over the vast majority of the population in favor of a handful of selfish bastards into a lather, then I have the following last words for them:

WAKE THE FUCK UP AND GET WITH THE FUCKING PROGRAM.
