First of all, I’m not sure why pointing out that the GOP is also opposed to ending the DADT is supposed to show the Democrats in a bad light. You didn’t really think that one through.
Second of all, you’re conflating two things; The Democrats attempted to attach this 9/11 bill as an amendment onto a military funding bill because the GOP was blocking the 9/11 bill. The amendment in reference to DADT was also on the military funding bill, not the 9/11 bill.
So you are grossly mistaken when you say:

A ‘clean’ version of the 9/11 bill is exactly what is being blocked in the Senate.
Do you understand this? The DADT amendment was not to the 9/11 bill, but to the military spending bill. So your contention is mistaken, I assume out of ignorance.
Can you please admit this error?
