They like the idea of a complete asshole standing on the floor of the Senate and giving the “mainstream GOP” the third degree for daring to think that governing means accepting that you’re not always gonna get 100% of what you want.

I know. I’m just not sure whether I’d be happier if they recognized the filibuster for the pointless exercise it actually is, or keep them in happy ignorance. After all, if they realized it was a waste of time and energy they might insist on more effective action of some sort.
