Morning!

Heard some interesting Democratic election news this morning on local Columbus NBC. They were talking about Tuesday’s primaries and that Hillary was ahead in all the polls. Then they mentioned Hillary is already preparing for the general election and thinking of VP running mates.

They mentioned two we’ve all heard discussed; Tim Kaine and Julian Castro.

And then I realized why Columbus media was spending time talking about Clinton running mates. The third name is Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown. That’d be cool. I’ve known and followed him from his first political run as an Ohio state representative in 1974. And he is a home town boy.

And Brown has deep liberal cred and he too is a big bank fighter…so Hillary could use him as her own Glass-Steagall Act rebuilder type. Take that!

Wouldn’t a major downside to Sherrod Brown (PS: IMO, an excellent candidate!) running on a national ticket be that the Democrats might/would lose his Senate seat, given that Ohio’s gov is the odious Kasich? Does Ohio have a special-election rule for Senate vacancies, or does the replacement serve out the full term?
