Pregnant librarian shot and killed in wild road rage encounter that she instigated: police

Sara Nicole Morales was fatally shot about 5 p.m. Saturday evening outside her Orange City home after she intentionally struck a motorcycle and then fled the scene, and the motorcyclist and a witness followed her home after trying to stop her at an intersection and calling police, reported WOFL-TV.

The 35-year-old Morales went inside her home to grab a gun, and she confronted 40-year-old Andrew Derr in the roadway outside — where the motorcyclist shot her multiple times.

Morales died a short time later at a nearby hospital, and police said she was about four or five months pregnant and is survived by an 11-year-old daughter and a fiancé.
